Brief introduction of The Language of Conscience translated from the Chinese publication:

In his book The Language of Conscience, Sr. Tieman H Dippel, Jr. stresses repeatedly that through the process of education of the basic moral code and common value, a culture of service can be created gradually among people and the culture has a strong influence in helping bring out the best in man. So it is especially important for the younger leadership. He also mentions the topic of modern political morality (or political philosophy). That is a leader how to use the power he has. The point is obvious in his book. He believes that as a good leader he or she must possess, at least, the basic moral code and common value that common public has. In other word, a good leader must be a good man at first. Of course, as good leaders, especial for the great men, they need to have not only the foresight but also the wisdom that is beyond the common people, and more importantly they must have loyalty. The key point here is that how the leaders use their power and for what motivation. To be specific, it must be made clear that whether they exercise the power for common good or for their own interest. It is on this question that leaders can be tested and identified if they have the basic moral character that leaders must have. This thought, just like the author quoted as a saying: "You can be respected for power, but you are admired for your motivation in how you use that power." can serve as an enlightening for us to check the bud of corruption from the deep of mind.

There is a leading melody cross the whole book from the beginning to the end. That is to uplift the education level, to shape a good value of culture, and to stick to the basic morality that help increase the common good of society, and so to wakening the conscience of man. It is significant for enhancing the unity of society, for raising leaders of new generation, and for speeding up the development of economy and culture. By the way, it is worth a while for us to pay attention to the way he propagates his concept. He does not use the commonly used way of preaching but to touch the heart of people with the fact and thought.

In his book, Sr. Tieman H Dippel, Jr. refined his own experience of life into many vivid in word, significant in meaning and profound in thought apothegms. Those are words that convey wisdom and philosophy of life. No matter who reads them will get enlightened. Among the apothegms is there a basic concept that the author tries again and again to tell, which is the responsibility, accountability, wisdom, loyalty and conscience and it is far more important than the money, wealth and power. In his book, Sr. Tieman H Dippel, Jr. refined his own experience of life into many vivid in word, significant in meaning and profound in thought apothegms.         I hope sincerely that those thoughtful readers can chew the apothegms as food for thought in the book thoroughly and to sublime them by combining with your experience of life. I believe, in order to get the thinking and morality of Chinese people to a new historic level, we also can benefit by using the book The Language of Conscience for reference.
